Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka

A Son of Tseikuru

Born on December 24, 1953, in the arid landscapes of Tseikuru, Kitui County, Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka grew up understanding hardship firsthand. Raised in a family that valued education and community, young Kalonzo learned early that service to others was the highest calling.

"My mother always told me: 'Whatever you have, share it. Whatever injustice you see, fight it.' Those words have guided my entire life."

The Lawyer

After graduating from the University of Nairobi with a law degree in 1977, Kalonzo embarked on a legal career that would shape his understanding of justice and governance. His time in the legal profession deepened his conviction that the rule of law must be the foundation of any prosperous society.

The Parliamentarian

In 1985, the people of Kitui North placed their trust in Kalonzo, electing him to Parliament. It was the beginning of a parliamentary career spanning eight consecutive terms — a testament to his unwavering dedication to his constituents and to Kenya.

Through the turbulent years of multi-party politics, the fight for the second liberation, and the complex coalition-building of Kenyan democracy, Kalonzo remained a steady, principled voice for reform.

The Diplomat

As Minister for Foreign Affairs, Kalonzo brought Kenya's voice to the world stage. His diplomatic skills were further proven as Special Envoy for South Sudan, where he mediated complex peace negotiations that saved countless lives.

The Father & Family Man

Behind the statesman is a devoted family man. Kalonzo and his wife Pauline have built a family grounded in faith and service. His personal values of integrity, compassion, and perseverance are not just political talking points — they are the principles he lives by every day.

"Kenya does not need another politician. Kenya needs a servant leader."
